Robert Mariano

MA, US
Reality Star of Survivor & Amazing Race

Robert "Boston Rob" Mariano made his first television appearance on CBS' Survivor Marquesas in 2002. His compelling engagement resulted in a repeat appearance on Survivor: All Stars, where he was the runner-up to his wife-to-be, Amber Brkich. Mariano proposed to Amber during the live finale of All Stars, and the two were married in front of millions of viewers on a two-hour CBS primetime special, Rob and Amber Get Married.

He has also been a contestant on two additional Survivor seasons, Heroes vs. Villains in 2010 and Redemption Island in 2011. Mariano is the only person to have appeared on Survivor four times. He has also starred in his own regular CBS Early Show segment, "Rob to the Rescue," and the Fox reality show Rob and Amber: Against All Odds. Mariano has hosted several television events and shows, including ABC's The Split, UPN's The Player, Sci-Fi's Sci-Fi Investigates, and the 2007 mega-reward reality show Tontine, which never aired. Also, he is a two-time competitor, along with wife Amber, on Amazing Race.

He is an avid golfer and poker player, and has played or coached college-level hockey, rugby, and boxing. And, as you can probably guess, Boston Rob is a huge fan of all things Boston. Whether it's the Patriots, the Bruins, the Celtics, or his beloved Red Sox, you can always find Mariano rooting on his hometown team. Of course, being Italian, he loves food and enjoys playing chef for his three favorite girls—his wife Amber and his two daughters, Lucia Rose and Carina Rose. Rob Mariano has a bachelor's degree in psychology from Boston University.

Mariano is really excited to take on his next adventure – hosting of Around the World in 80 Ways. This show will feature competitors racing around Earth while utilizing various forms of transportation, which will air this fall on The History Channel.
