How did I get to do that?
Following a career in Insurance, I joined TSB in 1995 to underwrite and launch a new insurance product. Three weeks later Lloyds and TSB announced their merger and the project was cancelled. Over the next seven years, I learned how building strong collaborative relationships within business teams can dramatically reduce the costs of management. I was instrumental in delivering strategic projects and unlocking significant sustainable profits.
After that, I worked with business leaders to support their collaborative projects. One example was the Association of British Insurers where I coordinated an industry-wide collaboration to minimise UK motor crime through data sharing.
I formed Abelard Management Services, a consultancy focusing on supporting established owner led businesses and the xTEN Club, a network of supportive business leaders. Both have at their heart a simple idea, that with the right support from a collaborative team you will amplify and magnify the impact you have on the world.
Everything I do is focussed on building better business.
