Alain Robert
Alain Robert is a French rock and urban climber. His exploits attract crowds of onlookers as he climbs large city buildings with no equipment apart from climbing shoes and a small bag of chalk.
The building's he's climbed (without permission) include the Petronas Twin Towers, the Sears Tower, the Marriott Hotel in Warsaw and the Luxor Obelisk in Paris. His climb to the top of the National Bank building in Abu Dhabi attracted around 100,000 spectators.
He was employed by Sky Movies to promote the Spiderman film in 2003.
He wrote an autobiography in 2008 called, With Bare Hands. The book details his climbs, as well as offering an insight into his psychology and how he overcame his disabilities. There is an award winning documentary about Robert entitles The Wall Crawler, released in 1998. Alain features in many areas in the Guinness Book of Records.
