Dr. Janice Fortman, Ed.D believes that communication is the foundation for all relationships, both personal and professional, therefore, people's opinions of you or your organization are formed by the way you communicate both verbally and non-verbally. She is an author, award winning international motivational speaker, corporate trainer, and effective communication coach. As a Distinguished Toastmaster, Dr. Jan provides memorable and engaging, presentations and breakout sessions, focusing on giving people peace and power through the use of effective communication skills. Dr. Jan was trained by Les Brown and Jeff Hoffman. 

Her mission is to improve the quality of relationships through the use of effective communication. She has a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership and holds the rank of Distinguished Toastmaster with Toastmasters International. She is a member of Women's Speakers Association, Global Woman Club, International Association of Women, and was recognized by the National Association of Professional Women as the Professional Woman of the Year for leadership in public speaking. She was also selected as the female entrepreneur to watch by Woman Entrepreneur Magazine and a finalist for the Honorary Global Woman 2021 award. Her articles appear in Global Achievers,  Woman Entrepreneur Magazine, and She Exist to name a few. Dr. Jan was recognized by Age Options for her outstanding volunteer service to older adults from 2017 – 2019.


Dr. Jan is the producer and host of "Relationship Matters tv", where she has conversations with entrpreneurs on how relationships have played a role in their journey, and "The Mother Daughter Relationship Show", where she gives tools and techniques on how to navigate the challenges in the mother/daughter relationship. 


The award-winning book, "The Secrets to How NOT to Throw Mama from the Train", focuses on the relationship between adult daughters and their aging mothers, and the communication patterns that cause difficulties in the relationship that effects all aspects of our lives. She received first place in the non-fiction book category from Authors Promoting Success International (APS) in 2018. Her coaching and consulting in this area has shifted these relationships from negative to positive.
Her book "The Little Book of BIG Behavior Interventions" presents the common misbehaviors of pre-k and elementary school children and the non-verbal communication that forecasts misbehavior. Her keen insight on why young children misbehave in their classrooms is popular with teachers who are faced with challenging misbehaviors.
The collaborative book "Harness the Power of Purpose -How to Monetize your Personal and Business Journey" is introduced with her chapter "Is Your Voice Being Heard".
