Melodie has been nominated four years in a row for the RBC Canadian Women's Entrepreneur Award and is honoured to be a Regional Finalist in 2014. She was the Entrepreneur of the Year in Stouffville, ON in 2017. Melodie also was one of ten recipients of the Silver Lining Inspiring Entrepreneur Award in 2009.
Melodie is a sought-after speaker and author. She is best known for co-authoring the best selling Plan to Protect®: A Protection Manual for Children and Youth, and those that serve among them and Plan to Protect®: A Protection Manual for Children and Youth, and Churches. She has also edited numerous articles and booklets.
Prior to Plan to Protect®, Melodie attributes much of her professional growth to the many years she served in the not-for-profit sector as Executive Director of CEF Ontario, and as Director of Member Care and Editor of Excellence magazine with the National Quality Institute (Excellence Canada).
Melodie is an active volunteer in Stouffville, Ontario where she lives with her husband, Scott. She has three grown children who she loves to spend her leisure time with. She sits on the Board of Teen Challenge Canada and Restore Canada. She is currently working towards her D. Min. at the University of Toronto.
