J. Kevin Butcher
In the last 35 years, Kevin Butcher has given over 4,000 presentations across the United States and in 12 different countries. A former all-American football player with degrees in Psychology and History, he has spoken to groups as small as 15 and as large as 6,000 and has a unique ability, regardless of the size of his audience, to make each individual feel as if he's talking directly with them. Kevin is especially passionate about helping men and women break free from the inner conflict that has kept them living unproductively in relationships - both in their families and in the workplace. He is known for being candid and authentic in his presentation, transparently sharing his own journey from being highly successful - but suicidal - to his present vocation as someone who brings richness of relationship and productivity to others - a journey he believes everyone can take. Raising three extremely strong and successful daughters in a gender-biased world has sensitized Kevin to the painful inequality women face and given him insight and deep desire to help bring understanding and justice to male-female relationships. Just as important, his work in a tough, east-side neighborhood of Detroit for the last 16 years has uniquely equipped Kevin to speak to racial and ethnic tensions that impact not only our neighborhoods - but the world of business. The effectiveness of Kevin's approach might be best summarized by a participant in a recent workshop: "You were everyone's favorite speaker on our post-event survey. Your talk was challenging and a great call to action!"
Kevin is the author of "Choose and Choose Again: the Brave Act of Returning to God's Love" and is working on a second book with his publishers - NavPress and the Tyndale Alliance.
