Justine is an academic, comedian and academic communicator.

Justine lectures at UNSW Law, with teaching and research in professional socialisation, identity and ethics, and the future of professional work. Her doctoral thesis, from the University of Oxford's Law Faculty, was an ethnographic study of London barristers and their pupils. She has a particular interest in themes of change, uncertainty and insecurity.

Justine is also part of Sydney's stand-up comedy circuit, and performed at Adelaide Fringe 2013 and Sydney Comedy Festival 2013. Mikey Robins describes her as one of his favourite up and coming comedians in Australia. Crossing into her academic interest in 'feelings of exposure', her show at Sydney Fringe 2013 is about shame and all its messy consequences.

To combine her love for facts and humour, Justine founded Nerd Nite Sydney, a monthly event she organises and hosts in which academics and other experts present their ideas in inclusive and entertaining ways to non-specialists. Her spin-off event, Nerd Gala, sold out in its debut run at the Sydney Comedy Festival in 2013.

As the thinking person's entertainer, Justine was asked to co-produce and perform in IFLS Live!, an event celebrating online science communication, as well as the stand-up show of the Ultimo Science Festival. Justine is a highly sought after MC, Speaker & Facilitator. Her bitingly funny approach can be seen in her recent comedy closing for TEDx Sydney, a guide to the perfect TED talk, now a hit YouTube video: http://www.youtube.com/all_comments?v=HfotnZVEq80
