My annual conference caters to a very niche audience. I always speak to keynote candidates prior to selecting to gauge whether they will be a good fit for us. I enjoyed the talk. It was well prepared and thoughtful and brought home many good points applicable to most of the audience while still being very detailed as to the experience which informed them. Touching on the difficulty of conversations with people about children after losing one of your own was not only (unfortunately) very relatable, I appreciated that you brought it up as a topic to raise awareness. It is a difficult subject and I appreciated your candor about it.

As someone who has "Transformation" in my job title, I typically search out information and presentations about change. Similar to those, I expected from Sharon a somewhat routine presentation about finding resilience, embracing change, etc. However, what Sharon shared were truly personal stories about her life and how she has moved through change, career, family, and cancer. She mentioned at the outset that she was a "competitive learner" and that was evident in that she took those life experiences she shared with us and used them to both learn and to educate others how to leverage tough times and grit to be resilient.
