Villa J Powell is a dynamic and inspirational speaker, teacher, and preacher. She is the Executive Director and Founder of My Heart's Desires Ministries. Her goal as a speaker and the goal of the ministry is to ignite holistic transformation within individuals, organizations, and communities. In addition to her own organization, Villa has been the Executive Director of the Richard Allen Community Services, Shalom Zone Ministries, and Urban Kids Camp.
Villa has inspired audiences in several schools as well as churches which include:
- First African Methodist Episcopal Church, Pasadena
- First United Methodist Church, Pacoima
- Hamilton United Methodist Church, Los Angeles
- Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Blythe
Additionally, she has taught at the college level in both California (West Angeles Bible College) and Arizona (Arizona Western College).
On a personal note, Villa is a native Southern California. She considers herself to be a bona fide San Fernando "Valley Girl". She and her husband, Darvell L Powell, are the proud parents of four children. Their oldest daughter, Lily, began college this fall.
Whether she is inspiring, motivating, preaching, or teaching; Villa comes from a place of gratitude, and a connection with the Divine. From this place she is able to allow her gifts and talents to flow and be a blessing.
