Treldon Layne credits Lindsay Barry, also known as Mr. Barry, with first recognizing his musical potential and guiding his guitar education. Under Mr. Barry's tutelage, Layne completed Alfred's Basic Guitar Method Books 1-3 by Morty and Ron Manus, Progressive Rhythm Guitar by Gary Turner and Brenton White, and Solo Guitar Playing Book 1 by Frederick M. Noad. Layne, who began classes with Mr. Barry at the age of 16, now understands that attending those classes was a pivotal moment, dispelling the belief that he was unintelligent and instead lighting his path toward musical education.

Treldon's literary prowess has garnered esteemed recognition, cementing his place as an artist in poetry within The National Register of Cultural Workers. His published anthologies, including the resonant 'They Stole It, I Must Replace It' and the invigorating 'Rise Up and Bolt Forward,' offer glimpses into his profound insights. His disciplined pursuit of musical knowledge led him to Trinity College London, where, under the tutelage of Gloria Barry, he achieved a remarkable Grade 1 Theory of Music with distinction. Furthermore, his technical artistry was honed through over 200 hours of intensive contact with Kenny Philips, celebrated for his expertise in recording engineering. The venerable Strolling Players, under the sagacious guidance of Freddie Kissoon, recognized his dramatic flair with a certificate of attendance in drama. Treldon Layne is an esteemed member of The Writers' Union of Trinidad and Tobago, benefiting from its supportive creative environment. His true initiation into writing occurred upon meeting Mr. Van Stewart at the Union. Treldon, who considered himself an "outsider" prior to this encounter, credits Mr. Van's exceptional mentorship and foresight for enabling his entry into the writing world. He remains profoundly thankful for Mr. Van's singular and critical influence on his early writing development, asserting that Mr. Van's profound commitment to his growth stands alone within the Writers' Union of Trinidad and Tobago.

His burgeoning influence as a wordsmith was notably recognized at Bocas Lit Fest 2015, where he was celebrated as an emerging writer, a harbinger of the profound wisdom he would continue to share. Presently, Treldon has completed a pivotal Mentoring Program with The Ministry of Arts and Multiculturalism, deepening his artistry under the revered guidance of Dr. Winsford Devine, a legendary figure renowned for penning timeless compositions for icons such as The Mighty Sparrow, Baron, and Machel Montano.

The 2025 Carnival Season witnessed Treldon Layne's triumphant emergence, as he proudly showcased D'Kaiso Dynasty Tent at the prestigious Radisson Hotel, an event that captivated audiences as one of Trinidad's premier Calypso tents. Amidst the joyous revelry, he graced the stage with poignant recitations of two of his compelling poems, 'You Can't Kill My Dreams' and 'People Echo,' both of which were received with an outpouring of profound appreciation and affection.

Treldon Layne, a broadcaster and announcer, hosted two shows on The Street 91.9 FM. On Thursday, July 24, and Friday, July 25, 2025, he worked as a host for the show "The Street Council" from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
On Monday, July 28, 2025, he launched his own program, "The Soul Speaks OUT Show with Treldon Layne," which aired from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This show was designed to inspire and bring hope and healing to the community.
