Cena made his WWE debut June 2002 when he signed up with the Smackdown roster. In 2004 he took home the United States Championship, defeating The Big Show in March 2004 in Wrestlemania XX. Working hard and entertaining audiences, John Cena has become the Face of WWE and the biggest recognized name of his generation in the wrestling industry.

But for Cena, who did not know about Make-A-Wish Foundation when her first joined the WWE, nothing else he participates in compares to his involvement with the Foundation. John has completed over 500 wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses.

When John Cena spoke at SXSW in March, 2017, he was interviewed by Host Katie Nolan of Fox Sports. The interview was published by The Daily Texan. Cena is quoted about his involvement with the Make-A-Wish Foundation "I have so many things I want to do in life," Cena said. "But for kids in that situation to say that the one thing they really want to do is hang out with John Cena - that has weight to it."

John realizes that there is more than one niche, and he has used his fame to explore everything he loves in entertainment, including talk shows, hosting and advertisement. His credits also include appearances on NBC's Celebrity Apprentice.

In 2015, Cena received critical praise for his acting skills in the hit comedy Trainwreck, directed by Judd Apatow and written by the film's star Amy Schumer. He also starred in Sisters with Amy Poehler and Tina Fey.

He hosts Fox's competition series American Grit and recently hosted the 2016 ESPY Awards.  Even as his brand pushes the boundaries between athlete and actor, Cena comes back to the ring every week because he is authentically committed to WWE and his loving audiences.
