
Shaun Marq Anderson
Dr. Shaun Marq Anderson is a highly acclaimed communication professor at Loyola Marymount University and is an internationally recognized researcher and consultant who examines the intersections of corporate social responsibility and social change. Specifically, his work focuses on the impact of sport on society. He has consulted with various youth, collegiate, and professional sport organizations in the areas of social responsibility, strategic communication, leadership, decision making, conflict managmeent, life skills development and diversity.
His work has appeared in the Psychology of Popular Media Culture, Sport Marketing Conference proceedings, Fantasy Sports and the Changing Media Industry: Media, Players, and Society, and in the forthcoming book, New Perspectives on Race and Ethnicity: A Critical Anthology. In popular press he has been featured in The Huffington Post, Your Black World, The Toronto Star, Financial Juneteenth, The Good Men Project, Black Life Coaches, and the World Policy Institute.
Many of the organizations that Shaun has worked with includes the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, Houston Astros, Detroit Tigers, Arkansas Minority Health Commission, Football University, Boys and Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee, Job Corp, and Junior Achievement. Shaun has also lectured in the area of social responsibility at prestigious universities including Rutgers University, University of West Goergia, Philander Smith College, and California State University, Los Angeles.
He received his Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, his Master of Science in Mass Communication under the William Randolph Hearst Fellowship from Arkansas State University, and his Ph.D. in Communication Studies under the prestigious W.E.B. DuBois Fellowship from West Virginia University.
