Karen Owen-Lee caught her desire to work with seniors from her mother a professor started the first accredited major of Gerontology (the study of aging) in Pennsylvania. She went on to complete her Masters. She and her mother traveled internationally to observe how other cultures, respect and care for their elders. They attended the International Gerontological Conference in Tokyo, Japan to attend classes with professionals from around the globe.
Karen proceeded to move to Colorado to work with seniors:
• She was the Marketing Consultant in 40 retirement communities in 5 states,
• She founded four companies prior to starting Housing Options for Seniors resulting in placing thousands of seniors in over 300 assisted living and memory care communities,
• She was the founder of Colorado Real Estate Lady for Seniors
• She founded Creative Results, a marketing firm for senior-related businesses, store for senior supplies
• She established an estate agent for seniors, The Colorado Real Estate Lady.
As Karen's 30 year career has progressed, she has become one of the best-known "Senior Specialist." Her keynote speeches are presented with a light-hearted approach regarding serious topics.
