Brent Kalinowski
Brent retired from policing after 27 years in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan with a career emphasis on investigations and major crimes. Late in his career, burn out and the desire to compete challenged Brent to 'think differently' as he helped create what is now known across Canada as 'The Hub model', a risk driven community collaborative that focuses on being collaboratively risk driven rather than reactive in isolation. This initiative involves multiple human services organizing themselves to provide services and supports to those at risk, before an emergent response is required. This game changing initiative has since inspired as many as 78 communities across Canada to adapt to a new way of doing business.
Now residing in North Bay, Ontario, Brent has been instrumental in developing a similar model for community safety and wellness in that city, as well as many others in that Province, across Canada, and the United States. As Project Manager for the Gateway Hub in North Bay, his own private practice, and more recently through his firm, The Global Network For Community Safety, he continues to support the evolution of collaborative, risk-driven models across Canada and Internationally.
In addition to his decorated Law Enforcement career, Brent's extensive and personal experiences with community agency's and Governments across Canada has provided a solid foundation for change and a paradigm shift from our reactive nature to these risk driven initiatives. These unique experiences have provided engaging and entertaining subject matter for many audiences nationwide both as a keynote address and as a subject matter expert.
