Dawn has been an educator and therapist for the Marine Corps for over 14 years. She has taught classes and facilitated trainings for groups ranging in size from 10-2,000, with locations ranging from outdoor hangers to intimate classrooms to large theaters. Flexibility, humor and a love of teaching have been crucial to her success. Topics taught include stress management, communication skills and healthy relationships, with a focus on adapting these skills to both personal and professional situations.

While traveling and speaking with the Heroes & Healthy Families Program, Dawn has been able to travel throughout the U.S. and abroad. She speaks on the topic of Healthy Relationships to foster work place resilience within the Marine Corps. She has created and conducted workshops for active duty personnel and their spouses to educate all on the impact of combat trauma and coping as a family. She has also spoken for the Early Childhood Trauma Conference on the topic of Compassion Fatigue and prevention of burn-out for providers and caregivers. She has worked with law enforcement in three counties, as well as military law enforcement, educating and intervening in traumatic incidents.

Dawn's expertise includes training in EMDR, an evidence based treatment modality for trauma of any kind. This modality can be generalized to treating traumatized groups as well as individuals. Dawn has extensive experience using EMDR to treat trauma and educate teams and individuals who may have survived any traumatic experience.
