Graciela (Grace) is a decorated U.S. Air Force veteran, educational publisher, bilingual STEM Consultant to K-12 school districts and a sought-after speaker on entrepreneurship, STEM leadership, innovation and the Latino educational crisis and solutions. She's the author of 5-time award-winning Latinnovating: Green American Jobs and the Latinos Creating Them, the first book showcasing Latino-led innovation and entrepreneurship in the green economy. She authored Good Night Captain Mama/Buenas Noches Capitán Mamá for children ages 4-8 - the first bilingual children's picture book about military women, inspired by Graciela's military aviation service. A bilingual, global aviation adventure series is in the works. This first children's book has won four awards so far: 1st Place honors in the children's picture book category, in the Writers Digest Magazine national competition among indie publishers and "Best Educational Children's Book – Bilingual" award at the International Latino Book Awards held at the American Library Association convention.
Graciela is the founder and CEO of multicultural marketing and educational publishing firm, Gracefully Global Group LLC, an SBA-certified woman-owned small business. Graciela was honored by The White House as a Woman Military Veteran Leader, Champion of Change in March 2014 for her social entrepreneurship. Last November, she was honored by the Business and Professional Women's Foundation with a National Business Women's Week award. Graciela completed the Aerospace Studies program as an Air Force ROTC scholarship cadet at the University of California at Berkeley, where she graduated with a degree from the School of Environmental Design & Architecture. While on active duty, she completed her master degree in international management at Whitworth University, a program that required dual language skills for admission.
After returning to civilian life, Graciela worked in marketing management roles utilizing her bilingual skills, in both the global telecommunications industry and the solar photovoltaic industry, before creating her own firm. Graciela recently co-founded the National Women Veterans Speakers Bureau to amplify the voices of America's published women veterans. She actively mentors young people in English and in Spanish, including her own three children, so they'll see that the sky is no longer the limit.
