Want a team that knows how to turn conflict into clarity? Using my experience as mediator and HR professional, I will teach your team powerful skills, just as I have so many other teams for 20 years.

Fortune 500 companies say the five most important traits in employees are teamwork, problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills, oral communication and listening, in that order. If you're a leader, you know the importance of staff being able to work together, communicate effectively and solve difficult problems. You also know that poor conflict resolution is costly: In exit interviews, quitting employees cite unresolved conflict as the main reason for leaving 50% of the time. HR professionals estimate that the cost to replace an employee is 1.5 times that employee's salary.

Therefore, to serve employers, I've spent 20 years providing training in these soft skills. My clients have been across the country, including Coca-Cola, the RCMP, Palliser Furniture, six different school divisions, four Child and Family Organizations, numerous Federal and Provincial departments, the Assembly of First Nations, three crown corporations, countless not-for-profits, families and marriage couples. They tell me:
I am knowledgeable

  • I am engaging
  • I am interactive
  • I provide skill-based exercises and experiences
  • I provide important feedback to the group
  • I am charismatic
  • For some of my clients, it has been essential that I am also an experienced coach and mediator.

The following are courses I offer:

  • Workplace Respect: An Effective Team's Foundation
  • Assertive Communication: Be Up Front and Be Respected For It
  • Emotional Intelligence: The Gateway to Their Hearts
  • Anger Management: Staying Calm Under Pressure
  • Dealing with Angry People: Listening, Leaving and/or Setting Boundaries
  • Increase Customer Retention Through Customer Service
  • Conflict Resolution: Utilizing the Gift of Disagreement
  • Dealing with Difficult People: Why You Need Them and How You Need to Deal With Them
  • Mediation: Through The Impasse
  • Training for Trainers: How to Give Them Great Experiences
  • Making Stress Your Friend; *Not* Your Enemy
  • Coaching: Maximizing Your Employee's Potential
  • Feedback: How to Change the Behaviour but Maintain the Relationship
  • Creativity: Making Yourself and Your Team More Innovative
  • You Have More Time Than You Think: Better Ways to Organize Your Work
  • Effecting Change in Teams and Organizations

In addition to these trainings, I've done lots of customized work, which are generally a hybrid of the above. I love customized work because it allows me to target your specific objectives, needs, industry, organization's culture, and your group's present skill level. I will always ask if I can customize a training, and when I do, I survey a cross-section of the expected audience, preferably using interviews. This allows for a much more precise learning experience.

I love to work with all kinds of people, so give me a call.
