Lu Ann Cahn is the author of the inspirational memoir I Dare Me (Penguin, 2014) based on the year she did something new 365 days in a row to get life unstuck. The two-time cancer survivor and national emmy winning journalist has been featured on dozens of national and major media outlets including:

Lu Ann has audiences laughing and playing as she takes them along on her inspiring journey of Firsts, teaches them how to dare themselves to take risks large and small and keep work and life "unstuck". This master storyteller explains the science behind "Do The New" so participants leave motivated and ready to make simple changes, face fears, and start tackling their big dreams and goals. 

The I Dare Me presentation is perfect for organizations needing the inspiration to adapt to transitions and changes as well as conferences looking for a motivational opener to get participants ready to try new things and take in new ideas.

As a survivor of breast cancer, kidney cancer and having her colon removed because of ulcerative colitis, Lu Ann also has a powerful presentation for survivors. 

Lu Ann also leads workshops for participants to create their own personal I Dare Me game plan and moderates panels to discuss specific challenges participants are facing.

Lu Ann is an 8-time emmy award-winning journalist, best known for her investigative reporting for WCAU TV. This wife and mother spent 40 years in tv news covering world and local events.

In addition to professional speaking, Lu Ann is now helping to launch the next generation of communicators at Temple University where she is the Director of Career Services for the Klein College of Media and Communication. She is currently earning her Master's Degree in Journalism from the University of Missouri.

Lu Ann grew up in Atlanta but is a Columbus, Ohio native. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Georgia. She is married to Phil Houser, a retired news photographer. They're proud of their daughter Alexa who dared herself to start her own business in Philadelphia.
