Chris Dew

SC, US
Passionate, inspiring, and practical life and leadership lessons learned from overcoming the pits of a crippling stutter and severe drug addiction.

Chris was born in Raleigh, NC with a severe stutter and unquenchable emptiness. He looked for anything that would calm his nerves and fill his void, which soon led him to drugs at the age of 15. By age 17, he was shooting up heroin daily and selling drugs to continue his habit.

On December 18th of 2010, Chris entered into yet another rehab program weighing 100 lbs, deathly addicted to heroin, and still without the ability to talk. Shortly after that, Chris experienced a miraculous tranfomation and began the rocky road to overcoming these struggles.

Chris began trying to read out loud, have conversations, and prayed for fluency. Over the next year, Chris' voice was literally healed and doors began to open for him to share his story on many different platforms. Chris has been mentored by some of the greatest church leaders in the world, including Perry Noble and Clayton King. He studied Psychology at Libery University, was on staff at NewSpring Church for two years, and is always reading and learning more about leadership, spirituality, and personal development.

Chris has now been sober for nearly 5 years and is on mission to inspire as many people as possible with his story. Chris is the founder of Chris Dew Ministries and travels to churches, rehabs, businesses, and events to share his message of hope.

Chris would love to speak to your team or at your event about leadership, personal development, joy amidst trials, overcoming hardships, or any other topic that would be helpful in your context viewed through the lens of the miraculous transformation he's experienced.
