His consulting practice, Andrew Mellen Professional Organizing, has been growing since 1996 with clients ranging from SMEs, NGOs, government agencies and multinationals including American Express, Bank of America, City of New York, Genentech, Goldman Sachs, NetApp, Time Inc. and the U.S. Departments of the Navy, Education and Homeland Security.

In addition to his hands-on work as a trainer and consultant, Mr. Mellen has spoken internationally on the topics of sustainability, organization and time management at Conferences including ICF Converge, The Great British Business Show, Dwell on Design and BlogHer.

He is a regular contributor to Real Simple magazine and has appeared everywhere from Fast Company, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal to HGTV, Oprah & Friends and CBS Sunday Morning. 

Prior to starting his own consulting practice, Mr. Mellen worked for over 20 years as a non-profit executive in the arts and entertainment industries. His work in these industries included tenures as the artistic director of Shuttle Theater Company, Alice B. Theatre and the D.C. Arts Center.

His experience also includes producing and directing over 50 plays across the U.S. as well being twice nominated for the Washington, D.C. Mayor's Arts Award for Excellence in Service to the Arts and a Helen Hayes Award for Best New Play. Mr. Mellen holds a B.S. in Theater Arts from Northern Michigan University.
