In 2007 Leana lost her close friend, Jenesse Aurandt, to breast cancer, but not before Jenesse told her that she should be a writer and made her promise to write a book one day. Leana eventually kept that promise, and her first novel, "Control Switch," went on to reach Amazon bestseller status.
