Since 1982, Ms. McCarthy has founded and grown six successful companies in fashion retail, domestic and international telecommunications, and Healthcare IT with capital equipment for large healthcare systems. And, she has worked for Fortune 500 companies like Johnson & Johnson and Boeing in sales and capital equipment purchasing, contracting, and barcode logistics design.
Ms. McCarthy is an Angel Investor and member of several angel investment groups in the Puget Sound. May advises start-up companies through a variety of organizations including Live Sciences of WA and Washington Technology Industry Association, and is involved in philanthropic and educational service organizations.
She is the Advisory Board Chairperson for Seattle University's Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center, Judge and Mentor for the Business Plan Competition at Seattle University, Board of Trustee member for ACT Theater, Member of Board of Governors for Columbia Tower Club, Past Board member of the Better Business Bureau of Washington and Oregon.
