Dr. Yolanda Shields, MBA, Ph.D., is the Founder of YESBuilds Consulting, a global business advisory and strategy firm. She is an internationally recognized business leader, best-selling author, and workforce development strategist with more than 20 years of experience helping entrepreneurs and organizations scale with purpose and sustainability.
Her work spans the United States, Europe, and Africa, where she has led initiatives in entrepreneurship ecosystem development, social enterprise, and workforce innovation. A dynamic and sought-after speaker and trainer, Dr. Shields specializes in business startups, entrepreneurial ecosystems, the gig economy, public–private partnerships, and human capital management.
Appointed by Governor Glenn Youngkin to the Virginia State Labor and Workforce Development Board, Dr. Shields also serves as Chairwoman of the GO Virginia Region 8 Council and is also Director of Entrepreneurship HIVE at Shenandoah University
