Welby Altidor
Through his curiosity and eclectic mindset, Welby studied theatre and communications while pursuing his interests in various disciplines such as philosophy, design, political science, cinema, literature and public relations. He joined Cirque du Soleil's Casting team in the late 1990s, as a Talent Scout where he traveled the world, having a hand in recruiting hundreds of artists for various Cirque du Soleil shows and projects.
Welby then took on the Director of Strategic Relations, Arts, Circus and Sports role in which he was called upon to develop international strategic partnerships in more than a dozen countries, including an important alliance with the International Gymnastics Federation.
He then led a number of large-scale creative projects as Director of Creation in the Images, Events and Lifestyle division. The latest Las Vegas hit show, Michael Jackson ONE (residing permanently in Las Vegas) marked Welby's first mandate as Director of Creation for a Cirque du Soleil live show. Above all, he's passionate about making people's genius resonate as strongly and as meaningfully as possible. He believes that creative courage is a metaphoric muscle that everyone can train to improve our world.
