Kaytlin Stead
Kaytlin's life has presented her with many opportunities for personal growth. From school teacher to a teacher of life, she incorporates the wisdom gleamed from the achievements and challenges of life. Always asking "WHY," her quick wit will keep you laughing while inspiring you to take action.
Vision/Purpose/Motivation
Kaytlin began her career as an elementary teacher; however, she spent more time in the principal's office than most of her students. Her belief was that each child should be allowed to learn at their own level of ability which often meant individualized attention. At the time, this was in direct conflict with the school's curriculum. She left the confines of the traditional school system to find her true vocation through Special Olympics and the field of disabilities over the next 25 years. It was here she began her journey of self-discovery and why she is so passionate about teaching others the lessons she learned from people living with a disability.
As the Co-founder and Executive Director of the 501(c)3 nonprofit DANN (Differently Abled Neighborhood Network, Inc.), Kaytlin and her team support people living with differences through educational and social programs, public awareness and community connections. Her book, "Race for the Heart" revisits a true heartfelt Special Olympics event where acceptance comes through actions, not words.
As a Professional Coach, Kaytlin uses the ancient teachings of Numerology and Intuition with today's career knowledge to help clients uncover their true path, identify and remove negative barriers and create an action plan to move forward. Kaytlin is certified through Coach Training Alliance (CTA) and Sue Frederick - International Professional Coaching Institute.
Grief/Loss
As the primary caregiver for her best friend who was losing her 26 year battle with breast cancer, Kaytlin often worried if she was making the right decisions and if she could see her through to the end. She had experienced the pain and heartache of losing loved ones before as her brother passed from cancer and she agonized over another friend's suicide.
Through these experiences, Kaytlin has become stronger in every aspect of her life. Kaytlin will tell you, "I am blessed to have faced the challenges life has given me and found my mission. In every challenge there is a gift, if we keep our hearts open and understand our own unique path and what we came into this life to accomplish."
As she found her courage to face life head on, Kaytlin empowers others facing loss to move through their grief, use their pain as fuel, see the bigger picture through spirituality and understand why they are still here.

The Truth About Failure
How many times do you fail before you give up? The truth is that failure is only feedback. You'll learn more from failing than you will from succeeding.
As a Special Olympics Coach, I had the honor of training a young man born without arms or legs. Todd's desire to be on my gymnastics team outweighed his physical limitations. No one had expected him to participate yet compete on floor exercise. After training many months, falling, getting back upright only to fall...
Reconnecting After the Loss of a Loved One
Grief, loss and end of life issues are some of the most significant experiences we encounter and we are often left to deal with our sorrow alone. The questions surface, "Why am I still here?" or "Why did this happen and how can I go on?" The truth is you can and you do, but you don't have to do it without support.
This is specifically for people who have experienced a loss and are at a loss as to what to do now. We will be:
- sharing our stories of loss and exploring our...
