Determined to improve, she devoted herself to researching what makes a great leader. Her quest led her to the principles of Polarity Thinking™. In Margaret's bestselling book, Power Surge, she demonstrates how a leader's natural strengths can become weaknesses when leadership values are not managed in pairs over time. Audiences begin to see themselves more completely to gain strength, not lose it. Leaders learn to be more insightful, incisive and purposeful in managing themselves while addressing their organization's complex challenges.

Margaret is one of only twelve certified Polarity Management® Masters in the world and is an Organization Development consultant, master trainer, and author based in Charleston, SC. Her consulting practice focuses on creating higher organization performance by helping clients manage the complexities of organizational leadership through the use of Polarity Management to build self-awareness and strategic thinking skills to create better bottom-line results. Her interest in helpingother professionals become more effective leaders began in the early 1990s, when she recognized the need to improve her own leadership skills.

While she has published numerous articles, her first book, Power Surge: A Conduit for Enlightened Leadership was published in 2008 by the Human Resource Development (HRD) Press, Amherst, MA.   She serves as Adjunct Faculty for the University of Notre Dame's Executive Education Center in the Mendoza College of Business.  Margaret holds a Master's degree in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of South Carolina.
