Nursing and Litigation - What's the Deal With That?
Nursing litigation began in the 1980s. Since that time nursing's involvement in lawsuits have gone from purely negligence to nursing malpractice. According to the National Practitioner Data Bank, the number of nurses involved in litigation from 1997 - 2005 have doubled. Nurses cannot afford to turn their back on this topic. We are almost as vulnerable as a physician.
