Jeffrey Robinson

US
Best-selling author and expert on money laundering, organized crime, terror finance, bitcoin and fraud

Jeffrey Robinson is the bestselling author of 30 books, and a popular keynote speaker on the international after-dinner and corporate event circuit.

White attending Temple University in Philadelphia (BA-1967), he wrote for television and radio, was a staff writer at KYW-TV3 (1965), scripted a popular local children's show and was on the writing staff of "The Mike Douglas Show" (1966), a nationally televised daily talk show.

After serving as a press and public relations officer in the United States Air Force (1967-1971) he took up residence in the south of France where he spent the next 12 years vagabonding around the world, writing articles and short stories for leading North American and British periodicals.

In 1982, now earning his living as an established freelance journalist and short story writer --- and with more than 600 published articles and stories to his credit --- he moved to London England to write books. 25 years later, he returned to New York where he continues writing books, and for television.

Among his books are, "THE LAUNDRYMEN," the first major expose of the true extent of drug money laundering; "THE MERGER," detailing the conglomeration of transnational organized crime; "THE SINK," documenting the extent to which the offshore world contributes to organized crime, money laundering, capital flight and terror financing; "THE TAKEDOWN" subtitled, "A Suburban Mom, A Coal Miner's Son and the Unlikely Demise of Colombia's Brutal Norte Valle Cartel;" and "THERE'S A SUCKER BORN EVERY MINUTE - A Revelation of Audacious Frauds, Scams, and Cons -- How to Spot Them, How to Stop Them."

His latest is an eBook exclusive for Amazon titled, "BitCon – The Naked Truth About Bitcoin."

With typical wit, humor, and his jaundiced eye for cons, scams, pirates, hype, market manipulation, misinformation, outright lies, self-fulfilling Ponzis, sleight of hand and a mob of greater fools, BitCom has received wide acclaim, including this from the Financial Times:

"Suffice to say, when one of the world's best known financial-crime authors turns his attention to the world of cryptocurrencies, and in particular Bitcoin, it probably makes sense to pay attention."

His speech topics include:

* Bitcoin – The future of the technology and the non-future of the pretend-currency. What businesses and investors need to know, and why this is a major tech play, and an avoid-like-crazy currency play.

* Fraud – If fraud was a disease, someone would have to declare a pandemic national health emergency. And yet, while businesses are aware of the threat, most of them turn out to be their own worst enemy.

* Financial Crime – Why the bad guys are winning, why the good guys may never catch up and what everyone needs to know about it.

* Money Laundering Today – 20 years after "The Laundrymen," this is how otherwise-legitimate professionals have turned dirty money into a 21st century global business to rival drugs, petroleum and foreign exchange.

* The lessons transnational criminal organizations have learned from big business and the lessons big business can learn from transnational criminal organizations.
