Margie Johnston is President of RevenueResources Management, LLC, a sales and marketing consulting firm for the hospitality industry. The company provides sales task force coverage for open sales, catering and operational positions, business development services, customized sales training and strategic sales analysis and recommendations. Prior to the launch of RevenueResources, Ms. Johnston held the positions of Vice President of Business Development for ConferenceDirect and Vice President of Sales for the Long Beach Convention and Visitors Bureaus. Additional career roles include Director of Special Events at Universal City Hollywood, as well as Director of Sales and Marketing at the Grand Bay Isla Navidad, a five star resort in Manzanillo, Mexico. She worked for Hilton Hotels for seven years in national sales, including positions representing the international luxury brand, Conrad and was Managing Director of both the Western Region and Northeast Region Sales Offices. Prior to this she worked on property for ten years at Hyatt Hotels in a variety of sales and catering positions. She started her career in meeting planning positions for the New York Management Company and Insurance Services Organization. She is a past president of the southern California chapter of MPI and has served on various international MPI international committees, including chairing the International Development Committee for two years. She also has served on the board of the southern California chapter of HSMAI and on the Community of Membership Committee for MPI International. She is the recipient of the MPISCC All Star Award, the MPI Outstanding Leadership Award as Chair, and was awarded the PCMA scholarship from the southwest chapter in 2007. Ms. Johnston is a speaker on a variety of industry and leadership topics. She has spoken at several MPI World Education Conferences, Meet Different Conferences as well as local area MPI chapter events.
