Michael Burke
Michael Burke gives a rare perspective into the power of transcending challenges. Born with an unpredictable and progressive disease Mike discovered as a teenager his life expectancy was two years away. Michael permitted self limiting and negative thoughts to dictate decisions. Waiting for the worst things to happen he was missing the greatest opportunities.
Michael opens the eyes of his audience to a world of 13,000 pills and 500 hours of therapy per year along with finding the motivation to maintain this regimen over a lifetime. Michael shows his audience that shifts in how they see life can open up possibilities.
Michael was inspired to write his book, Waiting To Die, Running To Live, by the deeply personal response from friends and strangers alike when his story of running marathons was featured in the PBS Documentary: "Start to finish: Running the Go! St. Louis Marathon." As an author, international radio host and speaker Mike's mission is to help his audience nurture the attitude of the conqueror, dive into the deep end of life and find purpose beyond one's self, particularly when facing roadblocks. He has served his community in hospital ministry, fundraising for Cystic Fibrosis and as a Big Brother for Big Brother's Big Sister's.
As an entrepreneur, husband, triathlete and marathoner Michael reminds the audience that incredible heights can be achieved when you embrace challenges and live heroic.
