Kari Knutson
A native of Colorado and has worked with children, teens, and adults as a professional counselor since 2001. She has a Master's in Higher Education Administration and another Master's in Counseling plus a certificate in Special Needs Education. She is a speaker, trainer, and consultant for schools, city governments, and community organizations. Her company Knutson Consulting is focused on helping people transform their organizations through developing interpersonal skills and bridging cultural and communication divides.
Kari has developed curriculum and presentations on: Bullying Prevention, Character Education, Motivation, Goal Setting, Developing Emotional Intelligence, Cultural Competency (especially around deafness), Transition, and Mindfulness. She has given numerous classes, workshops, and presentations on these topics throughout the Denver metro area.
Kari currently runs the schoolwide anti-bully program at Crown Pointe Academy in Westminster where she also works as a counselor and teaches middle school character education. She also serves as the anti-bully consultant to the City of Westminster where she gives presentations to parents, conducts workshops with staff, and serves as the intervention specialist.
Kari is also fluent in American Sign Language and can give presentations in English or ASL.
Kari is an avid traveler who has traveled solo to 13 countries and has a vast knowledge of different cultural practices and perspectives as well as different signed and spoken languages.
