Jennifer Hill

CA, US
Motivational Career and Strategic Alliance Specialist

Jennifer Hill, author of the book "Stop Hoping, Start Hunting," says:

"When any of us looks for a job, we come in with a set of unalterable given circumstances -- education, age, work history, and chosen field - which bear weight on our chances with a given company. But it's not this "hand" we're dealt that determines whether we get the job or not; it's the human element of how you play the cards you're given. Employers don't only look at objective facts and ignore your career-poker strategies any more than we fold our hands down on the table when dealt our cards instead of jumping in to play what we've got".

Jennifer is a passionate and grounded business owner, media personality, social media expert and author who has spent over 10 years as a top performing senior recruiter and has helped many job seekers as a motivating and experienced career coach.  She is currently the passionate principal of JHill's Staffing Services (which provides staffing solutions to organizations and law firms throughout California).

Most recently, Jennifer was a guest on Good Day LA and the KTLA Morning News.  She has also appeared on ABC Television, E! News, BBC News Worldwide, FOX Chicago and NBC Tampa.  Jennifer has been a featured speaker for the Los Angeles Paralegal Association, International Management Consultants, Pink Slip Mixers, UCLA, South Bay Professionals Association, Legal Secretaries Incorporated and the International Association of Administrative Professionals.

Her Social Media 101 classes are always a hit and geared toward a variety of professionals.  In these workshops, job seekers, business professionals and career go-getters are instructed on how to effectively use blogs and websites such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn for professional purposes.

Jennifer has a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California Irvine (where she graduated a year early). She originally hales from San Diego and has spent the last 10+ years in Los Angeles where she resides with her husband Ian and Pomeranian dog, Polar.

Jennifer is very passionate about contributing to her community and spends her spare time volunteering for organizations such as the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, SOS Mentor, Pink Slip Mixers and the Downtown Los Angeles Women's Center.  In 2009 Jennifer was nominated for Woman of the Year 2009 by the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
