Gerard Senehi is driven by a passion for expanding what we consider possible. He is one of the world's leading mentalists, an educator, and founder of Open Future Institute.
As a mentalist, Gerard uses his talent in a unique way to evoke mystery and inspire innovative thinking about life and the future. Gerard has been featured on dozens of television shows internationally including The Today Show, Fox News Sunday and Ellen, and has presented all over the world for heads of states and many of the biggest corporations. He has given hundreds of talks – each of them unique – for corporations and conferences such as TED, TEDx, Sages and Scientists, and Imagine Solutions. He has an exceptional ability to get even the most sophisticated audiences to suspend their ideas, inspiring people to think in new ways. He is the recipient of the Dunninger Award, the highest award from the association of his peers.
As an educator, Gerard founded Open Future Institute, a non-profit organization dedicated to the evolution of culture. In 2013, Open Future Institute launched the QUESTion Project which inspires youth to live a life of infinite possibilities by engaging with Big life questions. Through a curriculum that directly addresses some of the most important life questions, students find an opportunity to be themselves, expand their understanding of who they are, and explore their future with vision and purpose. The QUESTion Project's long terms mission is that one day, education will broadly include core human questions as foundational to the development of youth.
Gerard is a graduate of Amherst College and received his Masters in Psychological Education from the University of Massachusetts. He taught Science, French and Art and was a social worker, before embarking on a creative path as an entertainer and an educator. He is an active philanthropist and a member of the 50% League, defined as donors who have given half or more of their income, assets or business profits. He is a recipient of the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 2014. He is also a member of the Evolutionary Leaders, a group of thought leaders who share a passion for the evolution of culture and convene annually to share their work and find ways to strengthen the field. He lives in New York City with his wife Francesca where they work together on Open Future Institute and the QUESTion Project.
