Connie Cowan

Professional Life Coach

TX, US
A professional life and spiritual coach to help you stitch together the frayed pieces of life.

My name is Connie Cowan and I am a professionally trained life coach. I bring a variety of life experiences to my speaking engagements and I bring personal and creative touches to small group retreats and group formation events, as well as group coaching.

I am 56 years old, married for 30 years and we have one adult daughter. Our daughter was adopted as an infant, so I have experienced the roller coaster of infertility, the adoption process and the many nuances of life that that entails. Before marriage I served in the United States Air Force, and have great love and admiration for our military. I was a stay at home mom for many years, all while attending college and achieving a Bachelor of Ministry in Christian Administration at the age of 47. I have worked as an educator, an administrator, a family and youth ministry leader and Director of Christian Education for many years. Currently, in addition to my coaching/speaking business, I work for Weight Watchers as a meeting room leader. I lost 63 pounds through the Weight Watchers plan, and after many years of being overweight following my infertility issues I know how being overweight can cause heartache and self esteem problems as well as health issues that many of us often push down and keep trapped inside rather than confront. The experience of losing weight, and how I viewed myself during and after that process brings another dimension to my coaching and speaking events. I have also walked through the valley of watching a loved one struggle with life threatening illness (my husband had strokes, heart attacks and seizures -he is fully recovered from all and doing well now) and all of the emotions these events evoked.

Some other things that I enjoy and spend time on are vintage trailer camping, numerous hobbies (knitting, crocheting, quilting, gardening and cooking), and reading. I am currently writing my first book, scheduled for publication in early 2014. I also love spending time with my granddaughters, ages 4 and 18 months.

I am available as a retreat speaker, small group formation leader, and special event keynote speaker.
