Rev. Maria Hoaglund is an international author, UCC minister, transformational healer, and a spiritual, bereavement, and end-of-life coach. Rev. Maria blends her bi-cultural experience of growing up in Japan with her rich hospice experience over the last 19 years that has opened up her own spiritual life. Anyone facing death, grief, or a transition of some kind would find her books and resources helpful. Maria is also passionate about the body-mind-spirit healing modalities. She has learned four kinds of energy work that she incorporates in her energy healing work. She also works with the Young Living Essential Oils, acupressure points, meditation, music, and many other modalities to help people relax!

Maria has also has authored two "conscious living and dying" books. These are: The Last Adventure of Life: Sacred Resources for Living & Dying and The Most Important Day of Your Life: Are You Ready?  They are very gentle, loving collections that help people overcome their fear of death and grief, and go deeper spiritually. They honor "the inter-connectedness of all things" and are particularly relevant at this time, a needed resource for today's aging baby-boomer population. Many healers, hospice workers/volunteers, health care professionals, caregivers, and family members of those who are aging, dying, and/or dealing with grief are drawn to Maria's work.

Rev. Maria has spoken on various topics in countless churches, hospices, bookstores, and community centers - also on many radio shows. At this time, she desires to move into the world in a broader, more dynamic way to encourage people to create more joy and awareness around living and dying. She also writes for the Examiner.com as their National Transitions & Grief Examiner. Joyful Transitions: Bringing Death back to Life

This is a lecture I gave at a hospice related event (Faith in Action) for a group of healthcare providers and church leaders. This talk helps individuals examine their perspectives on death, grief, & transitions of all kinds. We explore how to weave life and death back together again in a culture that has separated them. We look at ways that death can teach us about life, and how we can remain open and to learn and grow from these opportunities that come into...
