Reggie Rivers is a renaissance man whose talents and achievements have spanned many different disciplines. He's a former NFL running back, a media personality, a business owner, an author and a motivational speaker, master of ceremonies and auctioneer.

Reggie was a four-time All-American football player at Texas State University, whose excellent performance on the field was matched by his excellent performance in the classroom.  During his collegiate career, he was a Southland Conference Scholar Athlete of the Year (1990), named the top newspaper journalism intern in the State of Texas (1987), and was named the Lyndon Baines Johnson Outstanding Senior Student (1991).

He entered the NFL as a classic underdog—an undrafted rookie free agent and a longshot to make a team. But he managed to win a roster spot with the Denver Broncos and stayed with the team for six seasons.

Along the way, he established himself as an upstanding citizen in the community, a talented commentator in the media and an absolute hustler on the field. He made Pro Football Weekly's All Rookie Team as a special team's player (1991), he was selected by his peers as Broncos Special Teams Player of the Year (1993), he was a two-time Broncos NFL Man of the Year (1993 & 1996). He was inducted into the Southland Conference Hall of Honor in 2002 and the Texas State University Hall of Honor in 2003.

After his playing career, Reggie became a mainstay in the Denver media, writing newspaper columns for the Rocky Mountain News and Denver Post, hosting radio talk shows on 850 KOA and 630 KHOW, doing sports commentary on CBS 4 TV, and the Mtn. Sports Network, and hosting a public affairs show called "Global Agenda" on Colorado Public Television.

He has published five books: "The Vance: The Beginning & The End" (1994), "Power Shift" (2000), "4th& Fixed" (2004), "My Wife's Boyfriend & Our Feud with the Highlands Ranch Homeowners Association" (2006) and "The Colony:  A Political Tale" (2009).

He is CEO of Automated Flipcards, a business-intelligence data analysis company that he founded in 2011. Reggie holds a bachelor's degree in Journalism from Texas State University (1991) and a Master's Degree in Global Studies from the University of Denver (2007)

The Business of Football: Strategies from the Gridiron that will grow your business

THE BUSINESS OF FOOTBALL

Pro athletes develop finely tuned active listening skills that allow them to "hear" complicated instructions despite the roar of tens of thousands of screaming fans, which is a skill that successful business pros develop in order to effectively "hear" their clients, their vendors, their competitors and the market.

Pro running backs develop amazing mental resilience because they...

Benefit Auctioneer

Reggie just might be the funniest auctioneer you'll ever see. He's not a fast-talker who can sell 100 head of cattle or 100 used cars in an hour. But put Reggie in a room full of potential donors who are bidding on items to support a charity and watch him work his magic. He has a gift for understanding the ebb and flow of an auction, connecting with the audience, understanding the motivations of the bidders, pressing when he senses that there is more money to be made, and easing off when he...

Reggie was our opening keynote at our 2012 annual conference. He spoke to over 600 city and town leaders about his observations concerning what it takes to be a leader based upon his time as a Denver Bronco under the great coach, Mike Shanahan. While the anecdotes were based on his football career, Reggie's clarity, poise, and eloquence about leadership scored much more than a touchdown with our folks. I think his observations absolutely set the right tone for the rest of our conference, and our folks continue to ask me "when can we get Reggie back!" I can't say enough about his presentation and what he will do to make your conference special. If you are looking for an entertaining and informative talk about leadership and life, then Reggie Rivers is your guy.

We had Reggie Rivers as the keynote speaker for our 2013 winter conference of the elected officials of Wyoming cities and towns-an audience of about 200, including many mayors and council members. These community leaders come to the conference wanting to be taught and inspired. It would be an understatement to say that Reggie Rivers was equal to the occasion. He was a huge hit! I have worked on many such conferences, but none where the audience was more enthusiastic about the keynote. Reggie's theme was leadership. His story includes lessons learned from those who have been great leaders for him, such as former Denver Bronco head coach Mike Shanahan. Reggie adds his own experiences of how to take setbacks in stride and keep progressing. What I likes most was his manner. There wasn't the slightest hint of a pampered sport professional. Our people were totally comfortable with Reggie- the communication could not have been better. It is clear that he believes in people, and is totally sincere about helping others become the leaders they have the potential to be. I am happy to extend my thanks to Reggie Rivers, and my wholehearted endorsement-he did a great job at our conference.

I have had the distinct pleasure of working with Reggie Rivers over the past several years. Talk about someone who can rally a crowd and capture an audiences' attention- that's Reggie! Never without a clever come-back to any situation or scenario, Reggie ALWAYS has the client's best interest in mind. He arrives at an event having done his homework on the audience and the organization he is representing; he is a pro through and through! I would definitely recommend Reggie for any event that you want guests walking away saying, "WOW! That was amazing!"

Business Marketing Association

I've been doing this a long time (23 years as the executive director) and I truly believe you were THE VERY BEST emcee we have ever had for this gala. You exceeded every expectation. You took the time to understand our audience and make everyone feel special. You have probably been told this — but you have a true gift. You were so comfortable up on stage, professional in every sense of the word, and kept our audience engaged and smiling.
