certified virtual presenter

Lauren's passion is helping organizations that want to build their next generation of leaders. Whether it's training, keynotes or longer-term consulting partnerships, she uses her Nine Essentials of Significant Leadership to help transform the way managers think, make decisions & act toward the people they lead.

Organizations bring Lauren on because she brings a fresh new perspective and a street-smart approach to what works and what doesn't. She helps speed transformation in three critical areas: knowledge, skills, and relationships. Lauren provides your people with what they need to know to be better leaders. She helps them develop the skills that are critical to their success and their influence. And, she shows them ways to build stronger relationships with the people they serve and lead.

As a result, your people will be more focused on what matters every day. They'll lead with compassion and integrity, and they'll create and model standards of excellence that others will aspire to, and follow – all centered behind a common goal and vision. That's what SIGNIFICANT leadership is.

Anyone can be successful. You want your people to be significant.

Organizations and associations who hire The Colonel's Daughter find the bottom-line results of stronger productivity, market share, customer service, employee engagement, retention, and profitability all snap into place when they focus on Lauren's Nine Essentials of Significant Leadership.

As the daughter of a career Air Force officer, Lauren Schieffer grew up being uprooted and relocated every couple of years. This imbued her with profound independence and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. The lessons she learned from "The Colonel" have helped her make smart decisions and overcome adversity with humility and a sense of humor.

Lauren has navigated just about every aspect of corporate America in her varied career – from trucking to achieving top-tier Sales Director status for a global cosmetics firm to managing a non-profit foundation. Since stepping away from corporate America to work for herself, she has spoken in seven countries to associations, organizations, federal, state, and local governments, as well as Fortune 500 companies - helping them improve the effectiveness of their communication and reduce unnecessary conflict.

Lauded as "both inspiring and refreshing with leadership lessons that encourage and challenge the reader to become a better leader," her book series, Colonels of Wisdom,   has been listed as a top 10 for corporate gift-giving by Lifestyles magazine.

Able to relate to and energize everyone from the custodial staff to C-Level executives, Lauren Schieffer is a master storyteller, delivering inspirational and relevant content that empowers people to absorb and act upon what they've heard, and she does so in an entertaining manner with a dry sense of humor that keeps them chuckling while they're learning.

She also makes sure to have some fun along the way - because if you can't have a little fun along the road, why travel it at all?

Finding Significance

Finding Significance
Looking Past Short-Term Success to Achieve a Lasting Impact

Why settle for being successful when you can choose to be SIGNIFICANT? It's not about how much money you make. It's about how many lives you touch and the manner you choose to impact them. Because, how we impact others is a choice.

Significance is about making every part of the world you touch better for having interacted with you. It's about...

Leadership - It Starts with YOU

Is your organization suffering from low morale, lack of vision, drama, or a lack of accountability? All of these are signs of a crack in leadership at some level. Even if it's not in the C-Suite, poor leadership at any level
in the organization can be a pothole to the organization's mission.

While every industry has its systems and procedures (which may change over time), the CORE concepts of significant leadership are evergreen. The bottom-line results of...

Stop the Blame Game! - Creating an Accountable Team

Any team, whether it's in healthcare, sales, customer service, operations, or administration, is only as strong as its weakest link. If any member of the team is not accountable and fails to follow through on commitments, the entire team suffers. Very few people set out to not be accountable. Usually, it is the result of a couple of key issues that, when resolved, can change the entire functionality of the organization. Accountability is not just a popular buzzword. It's a mindset and a...

Taking a Higher View

Taking a Higher View
The Key to Seeing Possibilities, Not Limitations

On your life's journey, you will encounter balcony people and you will encounter basement people. Both have value and deserve to be treated with respect, and yet there is fundamental difference in how each looks at the world, their tasks and the people they work with.

Balcony people take a Higher View. They are...

Are You Getting This? Communicating for Results

The greatest hindrance to growth in any organization, or in any individual career is poor communication, both up and down the ladder. Most people are promoted (or not) based on how they relate to others - not their talent or skill level, and so many projects fail because of lack of - or poor communication. Most people achieve SIGNIFICANCE (or not) based upon how they relate to and communicate with others.

In this signature session, Lauren has steeped down the core competencies of...

The Voices in Your Head are Right!

There are voices in your head! There are voices in everyone's head. Everyone talks to themselves. What those voices are saying to you is crucial and can be controlled. One of the most important factors in your success is what you say when you talk to yourself. The fact is that what you think about, you bring about.

At the end of this session, attendees will know:

  • The relationship between their conscious mind and their subconscious mind
  • How the subconscious mind...
