
Kenyon Jones
Raised in the East New York section of Brooklyn, NY, where drugs and violence were the norm, Kenyon remained well grounded due to having a strong faith and great support from his parents. He was heavily involved in athletics from age ten. In High School he assisted his high school basketball team with winning the city championship in 1998. In 1999 Kenyon was one of the top basketball players in NYC, and went on to play basketball at Glenville State College, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 2005.
Kenyon has had the opportunity to share his story with groups of adults and children. His audience has ranged in numbers from 20 to 3,500 people. He uses personal stories to assist his audience in making better personal choices. His goal is that they realize there are consequences to their actions. He wants people to leave feeling confident about themselves and their ability to MAXIMIZE their potential.
Kenyon is currently the Associate Chaplain at a residential treatment facility in New York for boys 6 to 21 years of age. In 2012 he began a Life Skills Program for the residents in the facility, which focuses on:
- Education
- Respect for themselves and thier community
- Voluntarism
- Professional Presence
- Financial Literacy
