Sonny has entertained as some of America's great radio stations, including KMPC, KRLA, KFI, and KIIS in Los Angeles. He is inducted in the Texas Radio Hall of Fame and included in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as one of the "Top 100 Radio Personalities of All-Time".

As host of the Disney Channel's "You and Me, Kid!" and several other family-friendly programs, Sonny displayed his ability to work with parents and children.

Sonny Melendrez is in the business of inspiration.

Striving to inspire others has always been an important element in the life of this dynamic radio and television personality, speaker and author.

Twice named Billboard Magazine's"National Radio Personality of the Year," Sonny was inducted into the Texas Radio Hall Of Fame,The San Antonio Radio Hall of Fame and included in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as one of the Top 100 Radio Personalities of All-Time.

He has entertained on some of America’s greatest radio stations, both in Los Angeles and San Antonio and his popular radio program and podcast, The Sonny Melendrez Show, delivers much needed inspiration & entertainment to a worldwide audience.

As a TEDx speaker and emcee, he has taken to the stage at thousands of events around the world, including the prestigious White House Hispanic Heritage Awards (7 times) and the USO’s 50th Anniversary Gala in Paris.

Sonny hosted the award-winning children’s television series, ‘You and Me, Kid!” on the Disney Channel, enjoying one of the longest runs in the network’s history.

As a voice artist, he has given life to countless characters in cartoons, commercials, TV shows and movies, including The Jetsons television series.

Sonny’s ability and willingness to rally people behind a cause is one reason he is involved in so many charities and was named Inc. Magazine's "Socially Responsible Entrepreneur of the Year.” It is estimated that he has raised over 100 million dollars in cash, goods and services for local and national non-profits during his career.

Sonny received a Presidential Commendation for his efforts in the war on drugs; he received the FBI National Director’s Community Leadership Award and was lauded by the Department of Justice, receiving the “Modern Hero Award,” for his efforts to inspire the nation’s youth to Soar in School.

The City of San Antonio named the Sonny Melendrez Community Center located on the city's West Side in his honor, as way to say "thank you” for his community involvement, benefitting disadvantaged youth and families, including over 1400 motivational school presentations.

One of the projects of which he is most proud is the Children of the World Project, benefitting USA for Africa and giving talented youth a way to give back through their recording the children's version of the worldwide anthem, "We Are the World." The song received a Grammy nomination for "Best Children's Recording."
