Common Sense Trumps Stupid People Syndrome

Doug Johnson is the founder, and Chief Management Brain Trainer at Common Sense University.

After serving as a bank Vice President of Human Resources, Doug founded his own business, Human Resource Strategies, Inc., to support smaller businesses not having their own HR person or department. Over the years, Human Resource Strategies has evolved into a management coaching and training business.

Now called Common Sense University, the primary focus of the business has become "stamping out Stupid People Syndrome" in organizations, helping them enhance their potential and success. Clients are diverse in nature, having included an architectural firm, bank, credit union, rubber molding company, coffee roaster, heat treating company, tool designing and engineering firm, single site and chain of restaurants, veterinary clinic, retail market and non-profit organization.

In addition to facilitation and training, Doug is a speaker and has authored two books, And You Thought YOU Had a Rough Day, and Become A SuperHero Manager: The Common Sense 9 Step Guide. He is an adjunct faculty member at a local career college, hosts a cable TV show entitled "The Business of Life: Strategies for Success", and is the former Executive Director of a local Chamber of Commerce. Doug's newest project is a fast, easy, fun and effective visual management training system (by comic strip) that will go live online later this year.
