Kelita
KELITA is a multi- talented and award winning singer, songwriter, comedienne, speaker, and justice advocate whose musical talents and faith story bring hope, healing and inspiration.
As a child Kelita started performing and writing which led her to starring roles in professional live theatre. Her country music recording career with Sony and RCA wracked up dozens of accolades, TV appearances, radio hits, videos, and performances in Military overseas shows, concert halls and festivals. Kelita appeared with stars like Reba MacEntire, Randy Travis, Glen Campbell and Kris Kristopherson and Shania Twain sang back ups for her in Nashville!
Kelita’s life took a dramatic turn and her music ministry was birthed. Her heartfelt music and willingness to speak about her childhood sexual abuse, dysfunctional life and extreme losses led her into prisons, churches, women’s shelters, and onto Christian TV programs like “Life Today” with James Robison. People’s lives have been transformed and powerfully impacted by God’s Holy Spirit working through her. Kelita has partnered with many ministries and non for profits including pregnancy centres, youth at risk, missions, hospitals, YMCA, Canadian Cancer Society, Special Olympics and Campus Crusade for Christ.
Her work with World Vision has seen hundreds of children sponsored and her advocacy work and fundraising efforts for survivors of the child sex trade have allowed her to perform some of her life’s most meaningful work both in North America and Cambodia.
