M.Ed.
UT, USExcellence, the cure for rabid mediocrity, is attainable. Seek it. Find in others what they were born to do and help them seize it. The results are staggering.
I believe that empowerment and the freedom to rise above past mistakes guides individuals through discovery to the excellence within them. Often, that excellence is hidden even from themselves. Market yourself inside out. Create a culture, design a product, tell the world.
Within each of us exists the drive to perform exceptionally. We call it passion. In the playground of life, excellence is what causes us to jump to our feet, wave our arms, and shout "It's my turn!"
Sherman has spoken and facilitated many hundreds of corporate trainings for organizations such as:
Northern Utah Economic Summit, Dixie State University DECA, St George Chamber, Questar Gas Corporation, School of Life Foundation, Viracon Glass Manufacturing, Petersen Pharmacy, Southwest Federal Credit Union, Holiday Inn, CEO Builders, Applegate Homecare and Hospice, Designer Furniture Gallery, Steamroller Copies, Design to Print, Courtesy BMW, Mercedes, Volvo, Brent Brown Toyota, Stephen Wade Automotive Group, and Utah Schools Foundation Association.
My philosophy in leadership is simple. I take accountability for my contribution. Success and Blame share nothing.
Much of my career has centered in education, sales, and consulting. I received my Master of Education (M.Ed) degree at Weber State University. Believing that we live in an ever changing world full of opportunity, I enjoy the growth that education fosters. While it is true that problems exist, it is also true that solutions appear and reappear so frequently that ofttimes we fail to recognize them.
I suggest that a solution-centered outlook begins with the very words with which one chooses to communicate. Choose enlightening words. Give others the benefit of the doubt, and seek kindness. Indeed, reward kindness.
Like all worthwhile endeavors, seeing the emergence of a great self concept is very
satisfying. Nurture kindness. Serve others. Listen.
Sherman's greatest joys are found in his family.

I asked, "How long have you worked here?"
Benchmark customer service. The storytelling approach with a twist will drive the point home: "Some people get it!"
I was approached by a very astute and professional looking young woman carrying a rather large cup wrapped in a paper heat shield. She explained that she had created the hot chocolate herself and that she had taken the liberty to add a little cream milk. What happened next will change the way you train customer service.
Success and Blame share nothing.
Success is the accomplishment of a worthy ideal. Optimism, risk, and accountability are associated with success.
Blame, however, has no ideal at all. Blame is an attempt to heave one’s accountability or responsibility upon the backs of others. It yields only diminishing returns.
Success and Blame share nothing. We may choose only one. Success and Blame do not co-exist. They can not occupy the same space and time. One will devour the other.
