David Beard

BPE(Hons) MSc Grad Dip Business CAHRI AE

WA, AUSTRALIA
Showing individuals how to stay at the top of their game for as long as they want.

David is a Physiologist and High Performance Specialist with post-graduate qualifications from University of Western Australia and Edith Cowan University.  He was awarded a Fullbright Scholarship, spending two years at the University of Arizona where he earned a Masters Degree with a 4.0 grade point average.

On his return to Australia he joined HBF, the largest private health insurer in WA, as the foundation member of the Health Management Division.  As well as introducing Executive Health programs to a number of companies, he was instrumental in establishing mobile cholesterol checks in WA shopping centres, a trend that quickly spread across the country.

David was probably the first, and possibly one of the only, Exercise Physiologists to work in the Aged Care industry.  As Program Director of one of WA's largest not-for-profit aged care providers, he introduced health and fitness activities to people in retirement villages, aged care hostels and nursing homes.  He worked with, and helped change the lives of adults from 50 to 100.  Some of his greatest rewards were seeing the lives of seniors transform as a result of his willingness to push them to do more than they believed they could.

David has worked as a Human Resources professional for many years and has been a Management Consultant and Business Coach.  He knows the demands faced by leaders in corporate Australia, and the importance of maintaining a reasonable level of fitness despite the challenges of work, family and community responsibilities.

David understands the practicalities of balancing work and well-being.  He juggles a busy career and family schedule with his own health and fitness program.  As retired basketball player and tri-athlete he still makes time to ride, run and swim on a regular basis.
