Charlotte Kemp
President Elect of the Global Speakers Federation, Charlotte Kemp is the Futures Alchemist, an international futurist keynote speaker and workshop leader who helps clients prepare teams for the future
Charlotte Kemp is the Futures Alchemist, working with clients and audiences to co-create valuable and effective futures insights for their organisations. She is a professional member of the Association of Professional Futurists (APF), a worldwide body dedicated to the professionalization of futures work and strategic foresight.
Programs
Charlotte has a number of available programs, which all come with corresponding books and continuing learning online courses which is great for additional conference benefits.
Clients often ask Charlotte to create a new keynote or message to fit with the theme of a conference or to find future analogies that resonate with their industry sector. This is her happy place! The field of ‘the future’ is vast enough to embrace any industry, and Charlotte will find a creative and engaging way to demonstrate futures thinking and approaches that helps an audience to experience both the thrill of the future, as well as the warning to prepare.
Approach
Drawing from everyday experiences of failure, anxiety about change and primal fears of the future, and working with academic models that deal with these issues, Charlotte is able to gently help your audiences face their anxieties, uncover their values and concerns, identify trends and opportunities and make realistic plans for responding to whichever future unfolds.
Charlotte has many years of experience working with audiences who are fearful of change or intimidated by technologies and has a gentle knack of putting them at ease and taking them on the journey towards where they want their ultimate destination to be.
Charlotte's primary values inform her work:
Agency - Audiences are equipped to do their own futures thinking, apply their own futures models and take ownership of their futures
Alchemy - We co-create the future in a spirit of collaboration. Charlotte demonstrates a respect for existing insights and knowledge and the introduction of new models and approaches leads to better solutions.
Craftsmanship - No single keynote can solve systemic problems. Charlotte demonstrates how to craft futures, helping audiences to learn how to improve their thinking, skills or approaches to pursue more agile and innovative solutions, rather than polish redundant approaches.
Industry Experience
Charlotte has worked in many roles within the speaking industry, is comfortable setting up events, managing marketing and logistics, doing work both behind the scenes and from the stage and is flexible to respond to changing needs and emergencies on the day of the event. As past President of the PSASA, Charlotte founded the Virtual Chapter and built community with speakers across the 50+ countries on the continent of Africa. Through the Virtual Chapter, Charlotte has learned and demonstrated the skills of speaking, teaching, connecting and building community online and is now consulted by other associations to assist them to develop their own virtual offering.
Charlotte has held multiple roles in the speaking profession, including local chapter head, association president, convention convenor (in person, virtual and hybrid), secretary and now President Elect of the Global Speakers Federation. She intentionally builds global networks for both speaking and futures work, to ensure a global perspective on local issues.
Books
Charlotte is the author of a number of books including:
Futures Alchemist - A journey of discovery to co-create our shared futures
Futures Literacy - The professional development skill we are missing
Conscious Futurist - Become the futurist the world needs now
Testimonial
A testimonial from Derek Bbanga, Chapter President, Kenyan chapter of Global Business Chamber, had this to say about Charlotte's work:
"I first attended one of Charlotte's webinars during the pandemic and the timing could not have been more perfect. As our world was being upended, her talk on understanding change and how to respond to it was most illuminating. Since then I have listened to her several times and she always brings a level of engagement with any audience. Futures Literacy is new to most but Charlotte provides helpful models to make it easy to understand from the get go. She has a knack of connecting with audiences no matter what part of the world they're from through personalizing her presentations and being vulnerable. If you're looking for someone to break down strategic foresight or Futures Literacy to help you or your business I would definitely reach out to Charlotte. As she says, this is the professional development skill you might be missing."

Exponential Leadership for Exponential Times
Linear, local thinking has no place in a quantum, global world. And as association and professional leaders we need to be at the forefront of leading new thinking, new business and networking.

Futures Literacy - The Professional Development Skill we are Missing
If we do not understand the alphabet or the language of a country then we cannot communicate clearly when we travel there. We are unable to read the signs, hear the warnings, see the opportunities. We are illiterate and vulnerable.
Futures Literacy gives you those building blocks to start to read the future so that you can use the models to make substantial plans to craft your preferred future.
Who is this...
Become the Conscious Futurist the world needs today
