Mignonne Pollard is committed to racial, social, economic, gender, and sexual justice.
Mignonne is an expert in cultural competence, cultural humility, and communicating across cultures.
She is also a Religous Science Certified Practitioner (RScP) since 2012.
Mignonne has worked as a Senior Equity Specialist at Brown University's Education Alliance, providing workshops for teachers and administrators on working with students that are English Language Learners. She gave workshops around New England on issues of gender equity and racial justice. She developed courses at Brown University for students to understand the plight of refugees in the United States and abroad.
Mignonne is the former Assistant Director of the California 4-H Youth Development Program where she founded the Statewide Cultural Awareness Education (CASE) Committee working with youth, volunteers, and staff members. She served as chair of the National 4-H Extension Agents Diversity Committee, and as a part of the National Diversity Taskforce for the 4-H Program based here and on army bases throughout the world.
Mignonne led daylong workshops as a Speaker/Trainer for Skillpath Inc, providing empowerment and educational sessions to women in business and government on issues of leadership, management, and self-empowerment. In the past year, she has given over 200 workshops to approximately 1,100 women.
Additionally, Mignonne has worked internationally in Zimbabwe and several regions in South Africa. She has worked in Pusan, South Korea teaching women entrepreneurs and college students courses on American business cultures.
Mignonne Pollard has earned a Doctorate of Education from Harvard University's Graduate School of Education in Cambridge, MA with a focus on Education Administration here and abroad. She has a Master's of Arts Degree in Public Policy and Urban Affairs, from New School University in New York City. She has a Bachelor Degree in Spanish/ Latin American Studies from Flagler College, St. Augustine, Florida along with an honorary Doctorate of Laws Degree (2007).
Mignonne is a Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) and member of National Speakers Association of Northern California since 2013.
