Chief Economist, CanaData

Alex Carrick did his undergraduate work at the University of Western Ontario (London, Ontario, Canada), and completed an M.A. in Economics at the University of Toronto. He provides additional economic insights at www.dailycommercialnews.com/features/economy. Follow his blog at www.reedconstructiondata.com/alex-carrick.

His work has become international in scope and he delivers presentations throughout North America on the Canadian, United States and world construction markets. He is frequently quoted in major news media, especially in two Canadian construction newspapers, Daily Commercial News and Journal of Commerce. His weekly online video analyses are a popular feature on the newspapers' websites.

Carrick also has a personal blog site where he posts original funny short stories or two-minute reads, as he likes to call them. Nearly 80 of these have been compiled in his first book entitled "Two Scoops" Is Just Right, now available on Amazon.com. In connection with his "hobby", Carrick has built up a considerable presence on the social networking sites, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.
