Michelle Warkentin
I have entertained and worked with children for over twenty years. I am the spokesperson and educational manager for the Block Parents Association in Calgary. I have owned my own company for ten years producing puppet musicals for children and family audiences. I have an educational background in childcare, conflict resolution, life coaching, public speaking, acting and puppeteering.
I have volunteered with children in Jakarta INdonesia, Moshi Tanzania and Salvador Brazil. I have the ability to reach children through language barrriers. As a principal of an inner school in Salvador said, " You have a gift with children Michelle".
I have lived in Yorktown Heights New York and Jakarta Indonesia and Calgary Alberta. I have learned to cope with cultural shock and how to adapt my family to a new environment with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and be open to new ways of experiencing the world.
I have volunteered in a number of community organizations such as Calgary Immigrant Educational Society, Volunteer Calgary, CASA, CUPs, and the DDRC to name a few. I value the opportunity to be of service to my community.
I have recently launched my new webistie www.puppetgreetingsforkids.com and new e-flip book "Trolley in the garbage, Recycle Please"
