MONK has conducted thousands of interviews with people from all walks of life in everyday circumstances to dire situations. From 2016-2012 working for over 5 years as a full time Police academy Instructor where he trained a tough veteran police audience in southewwestern Pennslvania. For six years prior to that working as a Criminal investigator conducting hundreds of in depth investigations including major tragedy crimes. Honorably discharged in 2001 from the United States Army Reserves as an E-5 Sergeant with service in Bosnia, Germany, and Japan.
Throughout his Law Enforcement career Jimmy served in uniform as a Patrol Officer for large over 4,200 man Police department at multiple locations in and around the Greater metropolitan area of Pittsburgh, PA. As a First Responder and an effective Interdiction Officer who from 2010-12 was also a contracted Independent Trainer for One on One: Connecting Cops & Kids presented by The Fred Rogers Company. This program administered through a U.S. Department of Justice Community Oriented Policing Services Federal grant was conducted in multiple cities by Jimmy throughout the United States including West Palm Beach, FL, Memphis, TN, Albany,NY and Washington, DC.
Jimmy is also since 2006 a certified Pennsylvania Municipal Police Education and Training Certified (MPOETC) Instructor in Pennsylvania where he routinely instructs Police Academy Basic Training classes.
Jimmy MONK is a current member of the National Speakers Association and was the President of NSA Pittsburgh Chapter during the 2014-15 year.
