Born in Upstate New York, Koyah has been in North Carolina since the 80's where she established herself as a track star in her teens-breaking records across the country, which landed her a spot in 'Teen Magazine' several times for her athletic and leadership accomplishments. This athletic prodigy went to college on a track scholarship where she excelled in and out of the classroom, and went on to establish The University of North Carolina at Wilmington's first-ever student-run television news student organization 'Student Body Television' and the TV Show, 'The Press". It was there that Koyah got her start in television, after working as an intern at WECT-TV, the NBC Television station in Wilmington, NC. After landing a full-time TV Producing job going into her Senior year in college, Koyah decided to further her experiences on the screen and went on to land roles in various TV/Movie projects including: I Know What You Did Last Summer with Jennifer Love-Hewitt, Dawson's Creek, One Tree Hill, Miracle in the Woods with Della Reese, Gospel Jamz, Beyond Gifted, and The Wedding with Halle Berry, to name a few. Koyah also worked alongside actress, Lela Rehchon. She even worked at NBC-17 as a Production Assistant, Writer, Associate Producer, and Assignment Editor-as she honed and sharpened her TV skills, as she hosted various cable TV Shows in the Raleigh area.

Always set on turning ALL her high school dreams into a reality, Koyah was determined to answer the call to teach and went on to become a high school teacher to at-risk 9th-12th grade students at Richard Milburn High School and an Academically Gifted Language Arts teacher at Ligon Middle School, where she served on the Superintendent's Teacher Advisory Council, coached cheerleading and track, and further established a Principal's Advisory Council at her school. From the field of education, she was determined to help students access higher education and worked at Shaw University as an Admissions Counselor-passionate about helping students turn their educational dreams into a reality.

The speaker was born as Koyah gained more and more acclaim on the educational speaker's circuit in North Carolina and beyond-gracing the stages of countless auditoriums, classrooms, and conference halls-inspiring students to find and follow their passion and develop a plan to live their dreams through opening the doorway to education! Koyah was a Pre-College Outreach Coordinator at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and now is the TV Show Host of "Step N2 College TV Show/DVD Series" and the CEO of Step N2 College, Inc. Koyah is on a mission to help as many people as possible "step n2" post-secondary education as she offers encouragement and guidance along the way.
