Keynote: Life = Choices

"Life is a series of choices. Choices have consequences"

No one says, "When I grow up, I want to be a drug addict." Or, "I want to be thousands of dollars in debt by my 18th birthday." Or, "I want to live a life of mediocrity." No, EVERY student has dreams more nobel than that. Many, however, find themselves living with regret at the end of high school. The reason: POOR CHOICES.

Using side splitting humor, Brooks talks about the stupid choices that we sometimes make everyday. Without warning, he takes a sharp turn towards serious- describing the devastating decisions that teens commonly make, hijacking their highest potential. This message will challenge your students to evaluate their current choices and inspire them to live their best life. It is all about leading yourself, motivating yourself, and preventing yourself from making poor choices that can ruin your life.
Using personal stories and life lessons, Brooks teaches: -Your past doesn't have to determine your future. -You can't always control your circumstances, but you can always control your response. -Personal growth is your only hope. -You must apply strategy to your dreams to be successful

Schools may request that Brooks highlight one of the following choices: Drugs and Alcohol; Self Injury; Peer Pressure; Abstinence, and Bullying/Violence.

Keynote: Love > Hate

"You are the only hope we have to end bullying on campus and online, because you make decisions every day to either hurt others by your negative words and actions, or help them by your genuine kindness and compassion."

In this message Brooks tackles the issue of bullying head on, exposing the root of bullying (HATE) and providing the antidote (LOVE). Taking the students on a journey through his own personal struggles with being bullied and bullying others, he helps them understand just how damaging our hurtful words and actions can be.

Brooks educates the audience on the various methods of bullying that teens are involved in today including cyberbullying, emotional/verbal/physical bullying, mean girls, group bullying, and more. He shares the extensive research that he compiled for his recent book on this subject, and makes a solid case that students have the fundamental human right to be treated with kindness, compassion, and respect.

Harnessing the power of humor and making razor sharp turns towards the dramatic, Brooks takes the students on a roller-coaster ride of emotions in this fast-paced but sobering presentation. Your students will leave inspired to show genuine love towards their peers.
